Reports indicate that Collins, aged 38, had been bombarding her ex with calls following their recent breakup. However, her attempts to reach out were met with silence from his end. This led to a fateful encounter where Collins managed to locate her ex-partner driving his cousin, identified as Latasha Taylor, a 42-year-old married mother, to a restaurant in Jacksonville on a Saturday night. The confrontation unfolded as the vehicles came to a stop at a red light, with Collins initiating the attack.

Witnesses described a harrowing scene where the jealous Collins used her vehicle to block her ex's car before aggressively approaching his window. The situation quickly spiraled out of control, culminating in Collins firing a gun, tragically hitting Taylor in the head and leaving her in critical condition.

Family members confirmed the victim's identity as Latasha Taylor, a beloved mother and cousin to the ex-partner. Latasha's husband, Tony Taylor, expressed devastation over the incident, revealing that the couple had been looking forward to celebrating their 15th anniversary together.

Speaking about Latasha, Tony Taylor shared, “She is a great mother and great wife. She always puts other people before herself. She’s willing to help everybody.” The community has been left in shock by the senseless violence that has disrupted the lives of those involved.
