Venezuelan Migrant Accused of Raping Boss’ 14-year-old Daughter Released After Just 8 Days in Jail
A Venezuelan migrant, Jesus Alberto Pereira Castillo, is at the center of a disturbing case after he allegedly raped his boss's 14-year-old daughter while living in the family's basement in Colorado. What’s even more shocking? He spent just eight days in jail before being released, which led to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents having to track him down on the streets.

Castillo, 20, managed to post a $5,000 bond on November 27, a mere eight days after his arrest, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. Despite ICE filing a detainer request with the sheriff's office while Castillo was still in custody, that request was overlooked, allowing him to walk free.
After his release, federal agents had to search for him in the community. They eventually apprehended him at an undisclosed location, and by December, he was in ICE custody, as revealed by sources from Homeland Security.
Currently, Castillo is being held at an ICE detention center in Denver and has received a deportation order from an immigration judge. With the Trump administration having resumed deportation flights to Venezuela, it is likely that he will be sent back to his home country before his sexual assault case concludes.
Castillo's troubles began on November 19 when he was arrested by Denver police after being on the run for nearly three months. The incident that led to his arrest occurred on August 29, when he allegedly forced himself on the 14-year-old girl and assaulted her for about ten minutes. The young victim fought back, kicking Castillo repeatedly in an attempt to escape his grasp. When authorities arrived, they found her visibly shaken and in tears.
Following the assault, the victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the incident. However, Castillo had already fled the scene before deputies arrived, according to the sheriff's office.

Castillo's journey to Colorado began when he illegally crossed the border into El Paso, Texas, in 2023. Border agents released him due to overcrowding, despite him informing them that he was heading to Orlando. Instead, he made his way to Colorado, where he was first arrested in May for possessing tools for forgery and larceny.
After his initial arrest, Castillo ended up living in his car in Aurora, Colorado. He later found work with the father of the girl he allegedly assaulted, who offered him a place to stay in the family’s basement on a blow-up mattress. He had been living there for about two weeks before the alleged rape took place.
Since December 2022, Denver has seen an influx of around 40,000 migrants, the highest per capita in the nation. This surge has coincided with the rise of the Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua in the area, which has been linked to violent incidents, including takeovers of multiple apartment complexes.
During a recent hearing on Capitol Hill, Democratic Denver Mayor Mike Johnston defended his city, asserting that it is not a sanctuary for illegal immigrants. He emphasized that local law enforcement has been releasing criminal migrants into the community without notifying ICE, but he described Denver as a "welcoming" city for all.
