Haliey Welch, famously dubbed the 'Hawk Tuah girl,' has made a grand return to social media after a mysterious absence that lasted several weeks. In her latest post, she takes a playful jab at the swirling rumors about her disappearance, showcasing her signature humor.

Welch first shot to fame in June of last year when she coined the catchy phrase “Hawk Tuah - spit on that thang” during an appearance on TimandDeeTV. The phrase quickly went viral, and she seized the opportunity to launch her own merchandise and a podcast titled ‘Talk Tuah,’ produced in collaboration with Jake Paul’s media company, Betr.

However, her journey took a rocky turn when she faced backlash from fans over her crypto meme coin, $Hawk. After its launch, the coin's value plummeted, leaving many investors frustrated. Welch had been promoting the coin online, but as its worth dropped, so did the trust of her supporters.

Critics, including YouTube investigator CoffeeZilla, labeled the launch a scam, stating, “This is one of the most miserable, horrible launches I’ve ever seen in my life. I’ve been tracing it on chain for a while. You guys generated over $1M in fees while y’all fans got rug-pulled.” He further criticized the tokenomics, calling it the “worst” he had ever seen.

While Welch was not directly named in the allegations, a class action lawsuit was filed against the team behind the $Hawk coin. On December 20, she took to X to announce that she was collaborating with a legal team to assist those who invested in the coin in uncovering the truth behind the situation.

Finally breaking her silence, Haliey posted an iconic video on Instagram that humorously addressed the rumors about her absence. The video opens with ‘mourners’ gathered around a makeshift grave for Haliey Welch, as various headlines flash across the screen.

In a comedic twist, Welch appears with a fake baby bump, only to wake up from a dream, relieved that she isn’t pregnant. The scene shifts to her in a mock jail cell, and the video concludes with the line: “Hailey, get your a** up - we got stuff to do,” hinting at her comeback.

Reactions to her return have been mixed. While many fans expressed their support for her comeback, others were quick to demand accountability. The video garnered over 24,000 likes within just 30 minutes of being posted.

One viewer commented, “Big comeback video mocking the public, good choice,” while another questioned, “What happened to the money you and the dev team made off your token that you rugpulled?” A popular comment echoed the sentiment of many, asking, “When she gonna quit on this thang?”
