New Jersey Police Chief Allegedly Defecated in Front of Staff, Sent Sex Toys to Officers

A New Jersey town is currently grappling with alarming allegations against its police chief, Robert Farley, who is accused of creating a hostile work environment for his officers.

Attorney Patrick Toscano is representing five officers from the North Bergen Police Department who have filed notices indicating their intent to sue both Chief Farley and the township. The claims are quite serious, with officers alleging that Farley engaged in bizarre and inappropriate behavior, including spiking the office coffee with Viagra and Adderall.

According to Toscano, the situation escalated to the point where Farley was reportedly seen shaving his arm hair onto an officer's desk. Additionally, there is a photo that allegedly shows broken glass, which Toscano claims resulted from Farley throwing a plaque during a fit of rage.

“Comments were made to the officers suggesting that if they couldn’t take a joke, they should just leave,” Toscano stated, highlighting the toxic atmosphere within the department.

The allegations don’t stop there. The plaintiffs also claim that Farley defecated on the floor in front of staff members and even sent sex toys to officers' homes, further contributing to the disturbing work environment.

Toscano is advocating for a change in leadership, demanding a new police chief and a financial settlement for his clients. He has also called for the Attorney General to take over the daily operations of the police department.

Christopher Mercado, a retired NYPD lieutenant and adjunct assistant professor at John Jay College, commented on the situation, suggesting that if these allegations hold any truth, the morale within the department is likely at an all-time low. “Officers are not going to engage. They’ll just come in, do their shift, and leave. Worst case, they might just quit,” he remarked.

Despite the gravity of the situation, Mayor Nicholas Sacco declined to provide an interview, and Chief Farley, who has been in his position for about a year, also chose not to comment. The township issued a statement on the matter, but details remain sparse.

Inquiries made to the Attorney General's office regarding the situation have yielded no confirmation or denial of any ongoing investigations, leaving many questions unanswered.
