Ex-Public School Teacher, 33, Faces Charges for Alleged Ongoing Abuse of Teenage Boy
A 33-year-old former teacher from South Carolina is now facing serious legal repercussions after being charged with engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a teenage boy.
Nicole Ballew Callaham voluntarily surrendered to authorities at the Anderson County Detention Center on Thursday, according to the Anderson County Sheriff's Office.
She faces three counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The investigation into Callaham began in May, revealing that the alleged misconduct started in 2021 and persisted for a minimum of two years.
During this time, Callaham, who was employed as a teacher, reportedly initiated "grooming behavior" with the boy when he was in his early teens, as stated by law enforcement officials.

Authorities noted, "The relationship intensified as she reportedly signed the student out of school, transported him to practices, and served as a supervisor for after-school activities. These repeated interactions led to a prolonged pattern of abuse, which was corroborated by search warrants and ongoing cooperation with the victim’s family."
After reaching the age of 18, the victim came forward, having spent time processing the trauma associated with the abuse, according to officials.
In addition to the charges filed in Anderson County, similar allegations have been brought against Callaham by the Greenville City Police Department, as the alleged conduct extended into their jurisdiction when the boy attended school in Greenville.
Callaham has since resigned from her position at Anderson School District Five.
