Mike Mason, Jamal Othman, Jared Lyon & Darienne Page Talk About "Employment Of The Future"
Nov 01 2018
The Fourth Industrial Revolution is coming . . . . It will change the way we work, learn, play, and grow. It will dramatically alter our world as it expands technologies such as 5G, AR, VR and drones. The next generation is already hard at work preparing for this new reality, training for the workforce of the future. This can take many paths. One proven route to mastering the technologies of the future will always be military service. Veterans have continually shown remarkable resiliency. After their time in uniform, they adapt into a civilian job the teamwork, technical prowess, and problem-solving that they learned in the military. With many emerging technologies having originated in military, veterans will lead the way with their valuable experiences. Senior leaders of government, non-profits, and corporations join BUILD to talk about how they see the nature of the workforce changing, and how they have adapted their own military service to their next career. With Veterans Day 2018 around the corner, this panel will offer lessons learned as both employees and managers for veterans and military service members to prepare for jobs that don't even exist yet. We'll be talking to Mike Mason (Verizon), Jamal Othman (NYC Gov), Jared Lyon (Student Veterans of America) and Darienne Page (LYFT.)
