Nativita Auguste, 43, was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon following the incident.

According to a report from the Coral Springs Police Department, officers were called to the scene on February 26, specifically near the 8500 block of Northwest 35th Street. When they arrived, they discovered Auguste trying to hide in the bushes of a nearby building, which raised some eyebrows.

The victim, who is Auguste's boyfriend, told police that the argument began over his reluctance to eat her meal. What started as a simple disagreement quickly escalated when Auguste allegedly slapped him while he was sitting in the living room. The situation took a turn for the worse as they moved into the kitchen, where the victim confronted her about the slap.

In a shocking twist, Auguste reportedly grabbed an eight-inch kitchen knife from the counter and swung it at him. The victim, trying to defend himself, raised his arms and ended up with a two-inch laceration on his left forearm. This was not just a spat over dinner; it turned into a serious altercation.

As the chaos unfolded, a witness called 911, prompting Auguste to flee the apartment. However, she didn’t get far; officers later found her hiding near her residence on Woodside Drive. Thankfully, she was taken into custody without any further incident.

The victim was rushed to Broward Health, where he received stitches for his injury before being released. Meanwhile, police began processing the scene, recovering the kitchen knife as evidence. They also found blood on the living room floor, which aligned with the victim's account of the events.

During her police interview, Auguste admitted to being upset over her boyfriend's refusal to eat with her but denied using a knife. Instead, she claimed that she only struck him with a napkin holder, which seems like a rather flimsy defense given the circumstances.

Ultimately, Auguste was arrested and taken to the Broward County Main Jail, facing serious charges that could have significant consequences.
