‘Doomsday’ Mom Lori Vallow Claims She and Chad Daybell Will Be Cleared of Murder Charges: Jesus showed me
Lori Vallow, the so-called "doomsday" mom from Idaho, has expressed her unwavering belief that she and her husband, Chad Daybell, will be exonerated from the murder charges against them. This bold claim comes in her first interview since being convicted for the tragic deaths of her two youngest children, Joshua “JJ” Vallow, 7, and Tylee Ryan, 16. Vallow stated that “Jesus showed” her their future, where they are free and not behind bars.

In a preview clip for an upcoming episode of “Dateline,” set to air Friday at 9 p.m. EST, Vallow confidently declared, “We will both be exonerated in the future.” She elaborated on her vision, saying, “I have seen things in the future that Jesus showed me when I was in heaven. And we were not in jail. And we were not in prison. And they were still in the future from now.” Dressed in an orange prison jumpsuit with her hands cuffed, Vallow’s claims are as bold as they are bizarre.
This interview marks Vallow's first public statement since her sentencing to life in prison in May 2023. She was found guilty of murdering her children and her husband Chad Daybell's wife, Tammy, in 2019. The couple's twisted plot revolved around their desire to marry and access insurance money, leading to a series of tragic events.
During the interview, “Dateline” correspondent Keith Morrison confronted Vallow with the harsh reality of her situation, stating, “You’re the most hated mom in America.” Vallow, however, remained defiant, promising to reveal the “truth” about her family’s circumstances. “You’ve got a lot of stuff, Keith, but what I tell you will be the truth,” she asserted.

Vallow's narrative has been consistently outlandish, featuring claims of her being a goddess heralding an apocalypse. She has suggested that her children died to rid their bodies of evil spirits that had turned them into “zombies.” Her eccentric beliefs and self-published apocalyptic novels have earned her the infamous title of “Doomsday Mom.”
However, the jury found that Vallow and Daybell had conspired to murder their family to pursue their relationship. Just two weeks after Tammy Daybell was suffocated, Vallow and Chad tied the knot. A year later, the remains of Vallow's children were discovered buried in Daybell's yard.
Adding to the tragic narrative, Vallow's previous husband, Charles, was shot and killed in 2019 by her brother, Alex Cox, who has since passed away from natural causes. Vallow is set to face trial in Arizona at the end of March for charges related to conspiring to kill her former husband.

Chad Daybell, on the other hand, received a death sentence following his conviction in 2023. In a related segment, “Dateline” also featured Vallow’s surviving son, Colby Ryan, who shared his feelings about the situation. “I always was a positive, see the best in people kind of person. And then I watched someone I knew my entire life do what she did, and it just changed the way I view people,” Ryan reflected. He expressed deep sorrow over how his sister was treated, stating, “The way that my sister was treated, was with hate. That’s not even human to do what they did to her.”
