An Ohio polygamist, along with her husband and four lovers, has been arrested following a shocking incident involving the kidnapping and torture of a 26-year-old man. This disturbing revenge plot, orchestrated by the group's matriarch, has left the community in disbelief.

Martina Jones, 28, her husband Michael Esqueda, 28, and boyfriends Aaron Bradshaw, 49, Austin Bradshaw, 28, David Cessna, 26, and Chance Johnston, 27, were taken into custody on March 22 after allegedly holding the victim captive in a hotel room at a Red Roof Inn in Maumee, as reported by the Toledo Police Department.

According to police reports, the group subjected the victim to brutal treatment over the course of a week. He was reportedly beaten with a metal baseball bat, forced to stand for long periods, and given only one meal and drink per day. The victim endured severe physical abuse, including being punched and kicked, and managed to sleep for only about 10 hours during his captivity.

Maumee Chief of Police Josh Sprow described the situation as one of extreme torture and assault. “He was being essentially tortured, assaulted, over the time frame of a week,” Sprow stated. “His injuries were results of being struck with a baseball bat, struck with fists, elbows, stomping on him when he was on the ground — which over time resulted in multiple fractured bones.”

The twisted scheme was reportedly set in motion by Jones, who ordered her partners to abduct the victim on March 14. This was allegedly in retaliation for an altercation that occurred at her home. The victim recounted that a dog fight broke out during the incident, leading to Jones breaking her arm while trying to intervene. However, she falsely claimed to her partners that the victim was responsible for her injury, inciting their violent response.

The victim's rescue came on March 21 when his captors allowed him to visit a nearby Speedway convenience store. There, he managed to communicate with a stranger who contacted his mother. “When she was contacted by this literally a stranger — she knew something was up,” Sprow explained. The victim’s mother quickly arrived at the hotel and was able to free her son, who was found with numerous injuries.

“It’s clearly a strange situation when you have multiple adult men involved in a relationship with a female and then this whole felonious assault, kidnapping taking place. Definitely not something that is normally happening in our city,” Sprow added, highlighting the unusual nature of the case.

All six suspects have been indicted on charges of kidnapping, three counts of felonious assault, and two counts of tampering with evidence. They are currently being held on a bond of $200,000 each, as the investigation continues into this bizarre and alarming incident.
