Ellen Meets Recovered Coronavirus Patient Who Beat the Odds
May 29 2020
Ellen welcomed Gregg Garfield, who was the first patient at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California with COVID-19. Despite being intubated for 31 days and given a 1% chance of survival, he recovered and was released after 64 days. Gregg was joined by his girlfriend AJ and sister Stephanie as they talked with Ellen about his humbling experience, the ongoing issues he has had since his hospitalization, and how doctors and nurses became his family after helping to save his life. Ellen’s friends at Shutterfly had a gift for those healthcare workers – a donation to their COVID-19 Heroes of Saint Joe’s Fund. Find out how you can help, here: ellentube.com/COVID19Relief
