Mormon Moms Supporting Their Queer Kids
Oct 18 2019
Shauna Jones from Boise, Idaho is a member of Mama Dragons, a group for parents who want to grow their support for their LGBTQ children. Founded by a small group of Mormon moms in Salt Lake City, Utah — where LGBTQ youth are at a higher risk of suicide — the community now includes 2,000 parents from a variety of backgrounds and faiths. Mama Dragons welcomes all intersections of family, beliefs, sexual orientations, and gender expressions, "because it's not about your religious background; it's about loving your child."
