This Cartoonist Is Drawing Her Way up the Pacific Coast
Sep 20 2018
Kendra Allenby likes the messy stuff. Her cartoons, which frequently appear in The New Yorker, explore the absurdity of human life wherever it unfolds—cramped apartments, crowded bars and now, the Pacific Crest Trail. Watercolors in hand and husband by her side, Kendra is documenting the five-and-a-half-month journey, with its epic beauty and inevitable stresses, by sketching. And while the couple’s destination is clear, Kendra looks forward to seeing where these newest cartoons will land.
