Dramatic Moment Police take down Tristan Wix who allegedly threatened to commit mass shooting

A 25-year-old man has been arrested at gunpoint and charged with making threats to commit a mass shooting.

Body camera footage shows the dramatic moment Wix was arrested on Friday in Daytona Beach Shores after his ex-girlfriend alerted police to alarming messages that she had received from him.

It is believed that Wix sent his former partner messages in which he detailed plans to shoot as many people as he could in a large crowd.

One read: "But a good 100 kills would be nice. I already have a location (laughing cry face emoji) is that bad?"

With another adding: "A school is a weak target.. id [sic] be more likely to open fire on a large crowd of people from over 3 miles away... I'd wanna break a world record for longest confirmed kill ever."

He also reportedly spoke about his willingness to die, writing: "What you wanna do after the fact, is your own business, if you want to plan to escape we can work on that. But I don't intend on walking away alive unless I see it fit."

In a press release, Volusia County Sheriff's Office outlined another message which read: "Ah well even if you told someone, me saying I wanna do it and think about it is not the same as actually doing it lol.

"Was kinda hoping someone would come into my life worth not doing it for, for the sake of all those people (laughing cry face emoji). I'm not crazy I just wanna die and I wanna have fun doing it, but I'm the most patient person in the world."

According to the MailOnline, when his apartment was searched officers found a hunting rifle with approximately 400 rounds of ammunition.

Sheriff of Volusia County, Mike Chitwood, tweeted to show his gratitude to Wix's ex-girlfriend who has not been named.

He wrote: "The suspect in our case was taken into custody without incident thanks to a brave young woman who spoke up, and a bunch of professional law enforcement officers who acted quickly to intervene."

Mr. Chitwood went on: "I want to thank those who came forward, especially the young woman here in Volusia County, for doing exactly what we are counting on you to do when you see the warning signs of a potential mass shooter in the making. PLEASE report these cases to law enforcement."
