A GIRL from Lavalette, New Jersey, is using social media to embrace her flaws and to encourage others to do the same. 25-year-old Lily Magno lost her two front teeth in 2017 following a skateboarding accident with her friend. At first, Lily was self-conscious about her missing teeth and she worried about how others might react. Lily told Truly: “It was such a low point in my life because it was totally out of my control. I realised that the only way to not feel like that anymore was to turn my situation into a positive one.” Lily started using TikTok to explore her insecurities. Although she does receive criticism, with some people accusing her of catfishing, Lily says that her videos have helped to build her confidence. She added: “I think haters shy away from posting negative comments now because my feed is so overpowered with love from my fans." Lily’s fans are what motivate her. She wants to encourage them to embrace their flaws and to accept their natural beauty.
