How big cats can survive the threat of being poached | 60 Minutes Australia
Jun 14 2023
Back in the 70s, there was a little Melbourne boy with a fascination for very big cats. He was all alone in hospital with three plastic toys for company - a lion, a tiger and a leopard. From that moment, Luke Hunter was hooked. He grew up to be Dr Luke Hunter, one of the world's most acclaimed big cats biologists. His great love is the most elusive, the most mysterious of them all. He's studying the secret lives of leopards. 60 Minutes reporter Michael Usher joined him on a safari to be part of the biggest ever research project of its kind - trying to figure out how these magnificent creatures can co-exist with the greatest predator of all - us.

For over forty years, 60 Minutes have been telling Australians the world’s greatest stories. Tales that changed history, our nation and our lives. Reporters Liz Hayes, Tom Steinfort, Tara Brown, Nick McKenzie and Amelia Adams look past the headlines because there is always a bigger picture. Sundays are for 60 Minutes.
