Princess Diana and Prince Charles said “I do” 40 years ago on July 29, 1981. The nuptials took place at St. Paul's Cathedral and the royal event was deemed the wedding of the century. An estimated 750 million people tuned in to watch Diana become the Princess of Wales. The pair went on to have two children, Prince Harry and Prince William. Diana and Charles divorced in 1996 and a year later on August 31, 1997, Diana died in a car accident in Paris.
