Supersex has been labeled as Netflix's most provocative show to date. The seven-part series follows Rocco Siffredi, a renowned porn star who has starred in over 1300 adult films. It has been reported that the show, set to air on Netflix, features 50 "boundary-pushing sex scenes."
Alessandro Borghi, who portrays Siffredi in Supersex, discussed filming the steamy scenes with Variety. According to Borghi, all 50 scenes took 95 days to shoot. He mentioned, "It was amusing because in the first couple of weeks, we were all a bit uncomfortable, but by the third week, we were standing there naked, watching scenes on the monitor. So, something must have clicked."
In one particular scene, Siffredi engages in rough sex in front of a crowd of cheering journalists and fans after being asked by an aspiring porn actress to help her enter the adult film industry before his retirement.
After retiring from the industry in 2004, Siffredi made a comeback just five years later.
Following another extended period in the X-rated film industry, Rocco reportedly decided to take another break in 2022.
Rocco's journey begins on the Italian coast, where he grew up before entering the NSFW industry. In a recent interview with The Independent, he opened up about the challenges he faced in his career, recalling how many doubted his choices. Despite the criticism, Rocco remained determined to pursue his passion, stating, "I want to be this guy, I want to do this all my life. I will never change."
Filmmaker Francesca Manieri, who was involved in the creation of Supersex, shared her thoughts on the project with the publication. She described Rocco Siffredi as a symbol and an icon in Western culture.
Her aim was to challenge men to confront themselves and the phallocentric system, where the male anatomy is often prioritized above all else in society.
