The new Captain Marvel movie takes place in 1995, so they used makeup and computer graphics to make Nick Fury look like he did back then. We've become accustomed to the amazing things Marvel does with CGI, but what they did to cut 25 years off Samuel L. Jackson's face is truly incredible.
