Kellyanne Conway's Daughter Is "Pushing For Emancipation"

All is seemingly not well in the house of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway. That's because on August 23, 2020, Kellyanne announced that she and her husband, George Conway, the co-founder of anti-Trump PAC The Lincoln Project, will step down from their jobs to, quote, "focus on family," per a statement released to the press. There has been some speculation that the development has ties to one of Kellyanne Conway's daughters, Claudia Conway, who announced on August 22nd her plans to seek emancipation from her parents. So why is Claudia taking this route? Well, some might assume it's because the teen is clashing with her parents, politically. Claudia dubs herself a, quote, "radical agnostic liberal/leftist," and was so active in her support of Black Lives Matter police protests, online, at least, that her parents reportedly made her delete her TikTok account in late July 2020, according to Vulture. But the 15-year-old Claudia eventually returned to call out her parents. After both Conways announced that they were leaving their jobs, Claudia re-emerged on the popular app. She captioned her video, "The power that i hold...they think this is gonna stop me from getting emancipated?" So is this all about politics? Hang tight, because Claudia's push for emancipation is more complicated than what meets the eye. On August 22nd, Claudia tweeted that she was, quote, "devastated" to hear that her mother would be speaking at the Republican National Convention. She followed up with, "I'm officially pushing for emancipation. buckle up because this is probably going to be public one way or another, unfortunately. welcome to my life." In another post, she added, "I have been using social media as an outlet to express my passions, individuality, and to shed light on some hardships. i have been vulnerable for a reason. thank you for supporting me." Claudia also said that her mother's job has affected her negatively. Claudia tweeted, "My mother's job ruined my life to begin with. heartbreaking that she continues to go down that path after years of watching her children suffer. selfish. it's all about money and fame, ladies and gentlemen." After going viral and receiving backlash from some Trump supporters, Claudia added on Twitter that it wasn't just about her mother's job. She wrote, "y'all love to twist everything. i'm not getting emancipated because of my mom's job.. it is because of years of childhood trauma and abuse." The story of Claudia Conway and her parents has been an ongoing saga, with a lot of ups and downs. For example, Claudia shared a pointed response to her mother's tweet about former Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain's death in July 2020, claiming the Trump administration was "complicit" in his death, as he reportedly died due to complications from COVID-19. She also asked New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a Democrat, if she could intern for her. When she returned to social media after getting her phone back from her parents, Claudia tweeted, "Got my phone back! probably wont have it for long though considering i'm about to revolutionize twitter brb." She's also used her social media accounts to urge people to vote and to protest. She also took a jab at her father, asking her followers to stop "stanning" him, adding, quote, "We agree on absolutely nothing." But all of this public feuding with her parents has taken a toll on her as well. In light of her political leanings, Trump supporters online have harassed her. Many others have also taken issue with how she is using her social media account. In response to all of the backlash, Claudia decided that it was time to step away from social media for a bit. She wrote on Twitter, "[This] is becoming way too much so i am taking a mental health break from social media. see y'all soon. thank you for the love and support. no hate to my parents please." Claudia also thanked everyone who was supporting her, too. She shared via TikTok, "Words are not enough to express my love for my following. You are all amazing. Thank you for the support and love. May you feel my love and peace back. I am taking a break to process this recent news and to stabilize my mental health." Kellyanne and George Conway haven't made any specific statements about their daughter's request for emancipation. But if the past is any indication, Claudia will likely have something to say about it when they do. #KellyanneConway #GeorgeConway #ClaudiaConway
