Uzo Aduba Emmy's Press Conference Reveals What She Would Say To Shirley Chisholm
Sep 21 2020
Uzo Aduba reveals what happened after she won the Emmy award for "Mrs. America" and what her mom said about her triumphant night. Her on screen adaptation of real life woman Shirley Chisholm landed her the trophy for outstanding supporting actress in a limited series. The actor also took the moment to reflect on larger issues, "I would be remiss to not bring in some of what is happening outside in the streets and the experiences that are true for so many who look like myself. The truth of the matter is I had the unique opportunity who made it her life work to speak, represent and hold space for those people who are often forgotten and left behind or out of the conversation. It became very important for me to not close the space on those who are often left behind or forgotten."
