Media SPACs Surge Even as Investors' Appetite Begin to Cool Off

Heidi Chung of the Variety Intelligence Platform breaks down the recent surge of Media SPACs, or special purpose acquisitions companies, which have raised $90 billion in just the last three months. Major brands like Buzzfeed and Vice hope to expand through mergers while former Entertainment execs have led the way in creating several successful SPACs. In recent weeks, however, interest has started to wane as investors slowly grow more cautious at making these big bets.
