The funeral of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, is set to be a somber affair for the entire royal family, for none more so than Queen Elizabeth II. In mourning her departed husband, the Queen may be set to literally stand alone.
The late Prince's 73-year partner in love and governance has begun to resume her royal duties following Prince Philip's death. One of those sad duties is attending Prince Philip's funeral. Unlike previous royal funerals such as Princess Diana's funeral which attracted thousands of mourners, Prince Philip's funeral will be closed to the public, with attendance strictly limited due to public health and safety concerns. Those same concerns may mean that the Queen will sit alone at Prince Philip's funeral.
