An episode of My 600-lb Life that pulled many viewers' heartstrings featured Justin McSwain, a recent college graduate from South Carolina. McSwain was finding it difficult to walk around the block, and was essentially housebound. Plus, there were the mental blocks. In his Jan. 23, 2019, episode, he couldn't safely fit into his rental car. The whole thing was an ordeal for him. He said, "I am trying really hard not to spiral and have a panic attack." After his parents' divorce when he was a child, McSwain found it hard to fit into his father's new family. His food addiction spiraled from there, and he was over 200 pounds by age 14.
