In 2021, childhood sweethearts Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie decided to take a road trip from New York to Oregon in a white van. The two documented their travels on social media and even started a YouTube channel called "Nomadic Statik." Unfortunately, on August 12, police in Moab, Utah stopped the van for speeding. In body cam footage later provided to the FBI, Petito was seen crying, while Laundrie had scratches on his face. On September 1, Laundrie returned home to Florida without Petito. She was reported missing by her family ten days later.
