Miley Cyrus has revealed that her claim of forgetting to wear underwear at the Grammys was just a joke.
The singer, who wore a chainmail dress made of gold safety pins and later changed into a plunging jumpsuit and thigh-high slit dress, thanked her team and loved ones while accepting the Record of the Year award.
She then joked about possibly forgetting underwear before leaving the stage.
However, Miley has now clarified that she was wearing custom-made Gucci panties and thanked her designer, Sabato De Sarno, for the head-to-toe chocolate custom couture.
Miley expressed her excitement after meeting Mariah Carey, Meryl Streep, and Mark Ronson, who presented her with awards. She shared a photo of the three of them together, stating that it perfectly captures their relationship, with them wanting her to do all the talking until she starts.
Miley also tweeted to her fans, saying that she is currently living her dream of watching herself perform at the Grammys from her bed. She then thanked her hair stylist, Bob Mackie, and her band and crew, including both longtime members and new talent, for their contribution to her performance of Flowers LIVE. Miley acknowledged that this wouldn't have been possible without their support.
Miley's first chaimail dress, designed by Maison Margiela, was made with 14,000 safety pins and embellished with antique French beads. The construction of the dress took an impressive 675 hours, and Miley expressed her gratitude to the Maison Margiela team for their hard work and creative genius.
She completed the look with yellow suede heels from Christian Louboutin, aiming for a style that was different from the previous year. Miley's hairstylist, Bob Recine, explained that they wanted to create a hairstyle with a '70s, Barbarella vibe while still maintaining a modern, punk edge.
"By incorporating a voluminous hairstyle with visible teasing, it adds a touch of freshness and sensuality to the overall look."
Throughout the evening, she also wore a beaded mini dress designed by Bob Mackie and a one-shouldered gown from Gucci.
