Demi Lovato made a surprising comeback to the Met Gala in 2024, eight years after vowing never to attend the star-studded event again.
The 31-year-old singer arrived at the fashion extravaganza in a stunning silver gown by Prabal Gurung, perfectly embodying the theme "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion."

With her hair styled long and straight, Lovato added shimmering floral accents to her look and accessorized with a dazzling diamond necklace and silver earrings.
This year's ensemble marked a departure from her 2016 Moschino outfit, which she wore to the "Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology" Met Gala. The sequined silver gown with gold trim and black accents was a showstopper.
Despite looking like a million bucks during her debut, Lovato had previously expressed discomfort with the event. In a now-deleted post, she described her first Met Gala experience as "#cool #sof—kingawkward #notforme."

Reflecting on the event two years later, Lovato revealed that she found the atmosphere cliquey and encountered a celebrity who was "a complete bitch." The uncomfortable evening led her to leave early and attend an AA meeting.

Opening up about her decision to leave the gala early, Lovato shared, "I related more to the homeless people in that meeting who struggled with the same struggles that I deal with than the people at the Met Gala—fake and sucking the fashion industry’s d—k."
Despite her past reservations, it seems that both Lovato and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour have decided to give the Met Gala another chance.
