Throughout the years, the townhouse served as a backdrop for various events, from entertaining heads of state to filming for television. The luxurious residence features a solarium, a courtyard with a fountain and koi pond, and elegant interior details like an 18th-century marble mantel.

As Sonja bids farewell to her NYC townhouse, she looks forward to the opportunities that lie ahead. The auction marks a significant moment in her life, signaling a new beginning filled with possibilities and creative ventures.

Sonja Morgan, known for her time on the hit reality show 'Real Housewives of New York City,' recently made a bold decision to auction off her beloved New York City townhouse. In an exclusive statement to GentNews, Sonja revealed that selling her cherished home was a weight lifted off her shoulders, allowing her to focus on her creative endeavors.

Sonja, who shares a daughter with her ex-husband, purchased the townhouse in 1998 for $9.1 million. After listing it multiple times over the years, the property was sold to the highest bidder for $4.45 million. Despite the emotional attachment to the home, Sonja felt that it was time to move on and embrace a new chapter in her life.

Reflecting on the decision, Sonja explained, "I'll always be a New Yorker at heart, but selling the townhouse allows me the freedom to travel with my Sonja In Your City Improv Comedy tour without the added responsibility of managing a home. It's a step towards focusing on my other creative pursuits."

The 60-year-old reality star shared that the townhouse, located on the Upper East Side, held decades worth of memories for her family. However, she felt that it was time for someone else to create their own memories in the space. Sonja expressed gratitude towards Sothebys Concierge for helping her navigate the sale in a timely and efficient manner.
