Why Captain Sandy Yawn Would Officiate Aesha Scott's Wedding Over Jason Chambers
Jun 04 2024

Sorry to this man.

“Below Deck” star Aesha Scott reveals her preference for Captain Sandy Yawn to officiate her wedding to fiancé Scott Dobson over Captain Jason Chambers. Aesha, 32, expresses her choice for Yawn, 59, whom she returned to work for on “Below Deck Mediterranean” after departing Chambers’ “Below Deck Down Under” unexpectedly, reuniting with her original Bravo family.

Choosing Chambers, 50, for this significant role would, according to Aesha, be deemed “disrespectful” to Dobson due to persistent viewer speculation pushing for a romantic connection between her and the charismatic yacht boss.

“I just think with how many people for whatever stupid reason … so many fans are like, ‘But one day, aren’t you gonna end up with Jason?’” she remarks, firmly stating her disinterest in pursuing a relationship with Chambers.

“I think it would be disrespectful to Scott to have the person fans dream of me being with to stand there and officiate the person that I actually am in love,” the chief stew elaborates.

Aesha recently announced her engagement to Dobson, sharing picturesque moments from his seaside proposal in her native New Zealand.

Despite fans’ hopes for Aesha and Chambers to become an item, Aesha has consistently supported him as a friend, even acting as his wingwoman at BravoCon events, where he garnered attention from single network stars.

“He would not have to work very hard to find someone to go on a date with,” Aesha mentioned about Chambers, who co-parents a daughter named Saskia with ex Fuchsia Quinn.

Various female Bravolebrities, including Lindsay Hubbard of “Summer House,” Lala Kent of “Vanderpump Rules,” Caroline Brooks of “The Real Housewives of Dubai,” and Adriana de Moura of “The Real Housewives of Miami,” have openly expressed their admiration for Chambers.

Aesha, fondly calling Chambers “Captain Cutie,” playfully invites him to her upcoming wedding with Dobson, hoping he might find a romantic connection among the guests.

“I like that plan!” she exclaims, envisioning a scenario where she plays matchmaker for Chambers at her anticipated nuptials, set to be a “big” but “private” event likely taking place in New Zealand during the summers of 2025 or 2026.

Looking ahead, Aesha, who starred in the first two seasons of “Below Deck Down Under” from March 2022 to September 2023, expresses her excitement about returning to “Below Deck Med” and working in a region close to her heart.

“The universe is bringing me back home to where I belong. I'm honestly so insanely happy because when I first started yachting, I flew to France with my sister. I was based in the South of France for years and years,” she reminisces on “Virtual Reali-Tea.”

“So for me, the Mediterranean is the home of yachting and it's my home of yachting in my heart,” Aesha continues. “So going back, it was just a really beautiful thing for me.”

Don’t miss the premiere of “Below Deck Mediterranean” Season 9 on Bravo, airing Monday at 9 p.m. ET.
