Lauryn 'Pumpkin' Efird's Concerns Over Sister Jessica 'Chubbs' Shannon's Sperm Donor Plans
Jun 13 2024

Jessica "Chubbs" Shannon is contemplating the idea of using her brother-in-law, Josh Efird, as a potential sperm donor, a recent interview with ET revealed. However, Lauryn "Pumpkin" Efird has not fully given her blessing to this plan, highlighting the intricate family dynamics at play, as reported by Page Six.

In an exclusive conversation with "Virtual Reali-Tea" hosts Danny Murphy and Evan Real, Lauryn Efird shared her reservations about allowing Josh, with whom she shares four children, to donate sperm to Shannon and her girlfriend, Shyann McCant.

"It's a significant conversation to have because, despite being my sister, there are numerous complexities attached to this decision," explained Lauryn, 24, during the discussion alongside Shannon, sister Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson, and mother "Mama June" Shannon.

Lauryn further elaborated, "Every single one of my kids bears a striking resemblance to their father," emphasizing the genetic implications involved in such a decision.

Clarifying the current status, Jessica, 27, affirmed, "At present, Shyann is not expecting," while encouraging fans to stay tuned for the continuation of "Mama June: Family Crisis" Season 6.

"The outcome of this situation is something you'll have to wait and watch," teased Jessica, hinting at the unfolding developments.

Reflecting on the desires of her sister and her partner, Lauryn noted, "I sense that Jessie indeed desires a child of her own, but Shyann appears to be more inclined towards parenthood, with her baby fever soaring."

Jokingly, Lauryn added, "I often tell Shyann, 'Just come over and spend a day with one of my kids. I assure you, you'll manage just fine. I have a farm full of them!'"

Shifting the focus, Thompson addressed her boyfriend Dralin Carswell's legal issues stemming from a March 2023 incident involving driving under the influence, fleeing from police, and speeding in Georgia, with Thompson present in the vehicle at the time.

"Currently, we are managing quite well," shared Thompson, 18, acknowledging the public nature of Carswell's legal proceedings. She emphasized transparency, stating, "We had no intention of concealing this situation."

Thompson emphasized the context of their relationship, stating, "This incident occurred while we were together, not prior to our relationship. It's not a reason to reconsider our bond but an opportunity to support him through this and navigate the legal process to clear his record."

Lauryn chimed in, highlighting Carswell's growth from the incident, indicating that he has learned from the experience.

"Mama June: Family Crisis" is set to return to WEtv, following the tragic passing of sister Anna "Chickadee" Cardwell in December 2023 after a battle with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma at the age of 29.
