With Kinds of Kindness now in theaters and expanding this weekend, Collider’s Steve Weintraub interviewed filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos and Joe Alwyn, who previously collaborated on 2018’s The Favourite. In Kinds of Kindness, Alwyn and Emma Stone are part of an anthology of dark-humored tales exploring human connection, power, and control. Lanthimos and Alwyn discuss the director’s methods to ensure comfort on set and how they approach rehearsals to allow for experimentation during filming. Alwyn shares his appreciation for being part of Lanthimos’ world, his process between takes, and why he leaves his characters behind when he goes home.
