It's a heartbreaking turn of events for fans of reality TV as news emerges of the untimely passing of Andrew Jury, a familiar face from New Zealand's 'Married at First Sight' series. The 33-year-old was discovered lifeless in his jail cell mere hours before he was due to appear in court for an assault trial.

Andrew Jury, who gained fame through his appearance on the inaugural season of 'MAFS' in 2017, was found deceased at the Mt. Eden Corrections Facility in Auckland, as reported by the New Zealand Herald. Despite efforts by emergency personnel to revive him, their attempts proved futile.

The circumstances surrounding Andrew's death remain shrouded in mystery, with officials stating that there is currently no suspicion of foul play.

Prior to his tragic demise, Jury was facing charges including unlawfully entering a building, assault with intent to injure, wilful damage, possession of an offensive weapon, and threatening behavior, as per the Herald.

Andrew's father, Roy Jury, expressed profound sorrow over the loss of his son, revealing concerns about Andrew's mental well-being in the days leading up to his scheduled court appearance.

"It should have been a red flag when Andy stopped communicating with family and friends," Roy shared with the Herald.

Reflecting on Andrew's struggles, Roy disclosed that his son had been grappling with challenges during his time in prison following his arrest on multiple charges on April 2.

Andrew's former 'MAFS' co-stars, including Brett and Angel Rennall and Benjamin Blackwell, united in a statement to mourn his passing.

"It's with heavy hearts that we acknowledge the passing of Andrew Jury. We shared a unique bond through our time on the show," the statement read.

While acknowledging Andrew's difficulties, his castmates fondly remembered his friendly demeanor and his penchant for being the life of the party.

During his stint on 'MAFS,' Andrew was paired with Vicky Gleeson-Stokes, although their relationship did not endure beyond the show's conclusion. Subsequently, Andrew chose to retreat from the limelight and lead a more private life.

The news of Andrew Jury's tragic passing has left fans and loved ones reeling, underscoring the importance of mental health awareness and support for those facing challenges. As the reality TV world mourns the loss of one of its own, Andrew's memory will endure through the impact he made during his time on 'Married at First Sight.'
