At 16, Rana Abdelhamid was attacked by a man who tried to take off her hijab. Now she’s teaching self-defense through her nonprofit International Muslim Women’s Initiative for Self-Empowerment (WISE) to help combat hate-based and gender-based attacks in her community. Through these teachings she has given other Muslim women a safe place to heal and reclaim their power.
