Professional wrestling is a punishing career, and not all stars make it out alive. Anyone who has followed the scene through any period during the past few decades has seen at least one beloved personality lose their life to substance abuse, injury, or suicide. What's perhaps even more surprising is just how frequently these tragedies occur. Much of the time, the stars that pass away are not the ones that are household names (though not always). In every case, these people punish their bodies for public entertainment, and often have to deal with painful injuries that stick with them for life, often resulting in early deaths.
