All told, the various films in the Harry Potter franchise brought hundreds of actors to the screen, nearly all of them British. The cast featured players of all ages, but because the first film is now over 20 years old, many of these cast members are now dead. From those who portrayed main characters to secondary and tertiary characters who were barely onscreen at all, all of these stars were beloved by at least a corner of the fandom. What's more, most of them had well established careers in film, television, and the stage, before and (often) after they left the wizarding world of Harry Potter.
