Surprising American Idol Eliminations We Still Can't Get Over

“American Idol” has been a reality TV mainstay for nearly 20 years. In that time, viewers have seen some incredibly talented singers — former winners like Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood have gone on to have immensely successful careers in the music industry. But not every winner achieves that level of fame, and it could be argued that there have been at least a few contestants who deserved to take the title and then didn’t.

One of the best things about “American Idol” is that voting is left up to the audience, which means that upsets are bound to happen. Some, of course, have been more upsetting than others. These are the most surprising "American Idol" eliminations we still can't get over.
