In Korea, a Buddhist Monk Makes Movies
Nov 05 2018
We partnered with Genesis to mentor and celebrate the next generation of filmmakers. Now we’re proud to share our two student film fellows’ short documentaries, which screened in Busan, South Korea, and at the 2018 Austin Film Festival. This short film is by InA Choi.
When Monk Daehae, a Buddhist monk who lives in Gyeongsan, Korea, first told people she would make a movie, no one believed her. But what she lacked in formal training and industry connections, she more than made up for in conviction and fearlessness. Go on set with Monk Daehae as she collaborates with cast and crew to bring her compassionate vision to the big screen.
