MARRIED couple Scott and Divine have been together for five years and are often judged based on their appearance. The couple met online in 2017 when Divine added and messaged Scott on Facebook and had mistaken him for someone else. When Scott realised it wasn’t a spam account and it was a genuine mistake, he thought he would still take the opportunity to respond and get to know Divine. After a few conversations they hit it off and started a long distance relationship. Later that year Scott flew from the US to the Philippines to meet Divine in person for the first time. He thought Divine was the one and proposed to her while he was out there. After a few years of being in a long distance relationship, Divine visited Scott in the US and the couple got married. Divine then started sharing videos of the couple online and this brought a lot of negative comments. Because of the nature of their relationship, people assume that Divine is using Scott for a green card or is only with him for money. Online trolls also find it hard to believe that Divine would be attracted to Scott. At first the comments hurt the couple but they are so repetitive now that they have become used to it. Scott told Truly: “Because you keep seeing the same thing over and over again… There's just no effect anymore." The couple no longer take the comments to heart and use them to fuel their creativity and make funny videos in response to them.
