Two apparently unrelated crimes, 11 years apart. One, a relatively harmless teenage prank. The other - a cowardly murder of a Canberra grandmother. 72-year-old Irma Palacsics was killed in cold blood in her own home in 1999.

In 2014, 15 years on, the killers probably thought they'd got away with it. But they haven't count on a young, dogged detective, or some extraordinary forensic science.

Be aware that this story does contain some violence.
