Bobbi Althoff made it clear that the deep fake AI videos have nothing to do with her, denying any involvement in the fake masturbation video that was spreading on X (formerly known as Twitter).
She started by sharing a screenshot of her name trending on the social media platform with over 17,000 tweets, along with a caption that clarified the situation: "Hate to disappoint you all, but the reason I'm trending is 100% not me and is definitely AI-generated."
Bobbi then followed up with a video in which she discussed her initial reaction to seeing her name trending and discovering the AI-generated reason behind it. While taking a walk and wearing a blue baseball cap and grey hoodie, she shared, "Guys, funny story. Yesterday I checked Twitter and saw that I was trending. I thought, 'Oh my God, that's a first. I must be trending because you all love my podcast, wow!'"
She went on to explain that when she clicked on the trending section with her name, she was surprised by what she found.
"I felt like it was a mistake, or something similar to bots. I didn't realize that people actually believed it was me," confessed the 26-year-old. She started receiving calls from her team questioning the authenticity of the video.
In conclusion, she clarified that it was not her in the video and expressed her apologies for disappointing those behind the fake video. She mentioned that the content was so graphic that she had to cover her eyes.
Bobbi gained fame for her unique interviewing style, often appearing in a bad mood or with a poker face. She has amassed over seven million followers on TikTok since launching "The Really Good Podcast."
