J. Cole, DaBaby, Megan Thee Stallion: Who Will Win 2019’s Lyricist Of The Year? | For The Record
Dec 02 2019
2019 was a big year for lyricism in rap, with standout projects from the likes of DaBaby, Megan Thee Stallion, Freddie Gibbs, Rapsody, and the Dreamville crew. As the year begins to wind down, it’s time to decide which lyricist stood out from the pack. As part of the Lyricist of the Year 2019 Bracket Challenge, Genius’s Head of Artist Relations Rob Markman sat down with Netflix’s Rhythm + Flow: The Aftershow host Scottie Beam, Rap Radar Podcast co-founder Brian “B.dot” Miller, and Cinematic Management co-founder Hovain Hylton to discuss who deserves the title of 2019’s Lyricist of the Year.
