Johnny Depp's legal team has responded to his ex-wife Amber Heard filing an appeal in their defamation case. The actor's lawyers told NBC News in a statement on Friday that they are "confident" the verdict will stand, noting the jury's "clear and unanimous" decision in the explosive trial, which dominated headlines for weeks earlier this year. The Oscar nominee is also appealing the $2 million awarded to Heard in her countersuit, according to documents obtained by NBC News.
