910,000 people in the UK were on zero-hours contracts in 2016. In this documentary, we see a variety of people who struggle to survive on what they earn. Lorraine is an intensive care NHS worker and is struggling to pay her bills as her wage hasn't gone up in 8 years, Kevin a funeral director has to work over 100 hours a week, Eryl was forced to leave her family and friends in a small town in Wales as there was very limited work. She now works in Liverpool earning £7.50 an hour (the national living wage) working in a Japanese restaurant but after paying her bills she left with nothing.
