Jerry Seinfeld has publicly apologized to Howard Stern after making comments about the radio host's comedy skills on a podcast.

Seinfeld expressed regret for his remarks during a conversation with David Spade and Dana Carvey, where he discussed the abundance of comedy podcasts.

"I really feel bad for what I said about my friend Howard Stern. I meant to say he must feel surrounded, but I said 'outflanked' which sounded terrible and insulting. I'm sorry, Howie. Please forgive me," Seinfeld said in a statement to Page Six.

Seinfeld's apology comes after he shaded Stern on the "Fly on the Wall" podcast, suggesting that other comedy podcasts have surpassed Stern's show in quality.

During the podcast, Seinfeld mentioned that while Stern is a great interviewer, he questioned his comedy chops compared to other shows.

Reps for Stern have not yet responded to Seinfeld's apology.

In addition to Seinfeld, Stern has had public feuds with other personalities, including his former radio rival Mancow Muller and Kathie Lee Gifford.

Muller recently criticized Stern for making derogatory comments about him in the past, while Gifford revealed that Stern had a longstanding dislike for her despite never meeting in person.

Despite the controversies, Seinfeld's apology to Stern reflects a desire to mend their friendship and move past any misunderstandings.
